What is a Histogram?

A histogram groups continuous data into ranges (bins) and shows how many values fall in each range as a bar. Unlike a bar chart, the bars touch, because the data is continuous, not categorical.

Histograms reveal the shape of your distribution: is it normal? Skewed? Bimodal? Are there outliers? These questions are nearly impossible to answer from a table of numbers.
